Completion of an application is part of the hiring process for all jobs. Notice that in some sections, you will see "add another". This allows you to add additional information. Resumes and other documents can be uploaded into the system at the end of the application. Once you have completed your application, you will have the chance to review the information. At the bottom of the review page is the "Submit" option, clicking submit will complete your application process.

Applicants may re-enter the Applicant Tracking System with a Username and password that each applicant will create upon submitting a primary application for a position.

Due to the volume of applications we receive, applicants are only contacted if they are selected for testing or interviews.
Testing and interviewing will be scheduled between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday. Candidates not able to test or interview during scheduled times will forfeit consideration for the position, and candidates must pass any required testing to move forward in the selection process.

If you are offered employment by the City you will need to provide the following documents:
I-9 eligibility forms
Transcripts, high school diploma or GED
Documented proof of any necessary requirements e.g. licenses, certificates, etc.
Certain positions will require a driver's license with a good driving record.

All newly hired employees (Except Police and Fire) shall live anywhere within Winnebago County or anywhere within fifteen (15) miles of Rockford City Hall within six (6) months of the completion of their introductory period, department heads and City Administrator shall live within the municipal boundaries of the City of Rockford within six (6) months of their introductory period.
